It started a long time ago
Our history goes back more than a hundred years. In 1874 the entrepreneur Wilhelm Theodor Ewert set up Sweden’s oldest importing agency for a number of famous wine and whisky companies. In 1891 Fritz Kramer, another young entrepreneur, established a similar business based in Stockholm. Since then our industry has gone through times of changes, including a 40 year period of ration book (ended 1955) and a long period of state controlled import monopoly. In 1980, under the management of Bertil Colliander, the two companies were merged under the name Stellan Kramer AB. In 1995 Sweden abandoned the import monopoly and StellanKramer has since then been one of Sweden’s leading importers of Wine and Spirits and today has an annual sales volume of about 5 million litres.
Today and tomorrow
We still think importing wine and spirits to Sweden is a great idea. The Swedish consumers taste for whisky and other drinks is developing and, being a country with almost no domestic wines production, we Swedes have learnt to appreciate wines from most regions of the world. Wine and spirits have been around for a long time and have become an integrated part of mankind. We believe people will discover and rediscover this over and over again and we are happy if we may contribute to the pleasure in life for citizens that enjoy our products moderately and responsibly.
As a licensed importer we play an important role in Sweden’s heavily regulated market for alcoholic beverages. We guide producers from all over the world to opportunities with the government owned retail monopoly (“Systembolaget”) and to openings on the horeca market. We help our producers to enter the market with new products and we continue to work with them to develop and protect their market positions. We make life at restaurants easy by offering our product range.

Our mission is to find opportunities for our producers on the Swedish market and to inspire and serve our customers with products and ideas. With our dedicated team on site in Sweden we promote the sales of existing products and present opportunities for new products to the producers we work with. We are independent and committed to making our partners successful in Sweden - suppliers as well as customers. We are proud to represent best-selling products and well-known brands as well as new products. We know that people and relationships make a difference.
We are a family-owned company, well-respected within Sweden and abroad as a reliable business partner. We are solid and credible and we have maintained the highest credit rating (AAA) since 1997. In December 2011 we were appointed "Importer of the Year" by a jury consisting of infuential journalists, sommeliers, restaurateurs and wine clubs.
